A mid-tempo track with melancholic strings is the base for Lilja Blooms vocals. These vocals, with their fragility, accentuate the serious nature of this song. "Mother" deals with topics like grief and loss and reveals some very private aspects.
The addition of piano and trumpet-samples creates a smooth, jazzy track. The groovy drums add an interesting opposite pole.
Lilja Bloom is a mulit-talented artist. Working with Parov Stelar for some years - as the voice on his albums "Shine" and "Coco" and with the project "Cash & Bloom" - she has gained international attention. It´s not a big surprise that Stelar is responsible for co-production of her first solo release.
